Smith Miller was part of a team that received an Honoree award from the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission in the Revitalization category for The Fowler Community Wellness Center restoration project. The new center, which is a restored and renovated former bank building, was donated by the late philanthropist Linny Fowler. Its purpose is to offer physical and mental healthcare, health and wellness education, academic enrichment and a range of job readiness and job placement services leading to economic self-sufficiency to the south side residents which will in turn lead to healthier and more productive lives. The rest of the team includes Burkavage Design Associates, Allied Building Corporation, St. Luke's University Health Network, RETTEW, and the City of Bethlehem.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held Oct. 12 for La Mora Senior Apartments, an affordable housing project to be built on a plot of land in Yonkers where the city’s Longfellow School once stood at 23 Mulberry St.
