You will work with the Project Engineer in the planning, design, and production of the engineering components of building projects. You will learn the overall picture of what consulting engineers do by performing tasks in each phase of production.
Graduates learn:
Engineering by designing, drafting, sizing equipment, performing load calculations and computer analysis of systems
Construction administration by processing drawings, RFI's, and some limited exposure to field experience during the construction phase
Qualified applicants will have an engineering degree from an accredited college or university, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and experience or training using AutoCad. Preferred applicants have completed a degree program with an emphasis in building systems engineering, have achieved EIT registration, and have experience drafting building systems using AutoCad. Successful applicants will have the desire and ability to pursue a career as a consulting engineer and to advance in position and responsibility.
